Sonoplex: The New Sound on Generation Binary

Friday, December 10th, 2010

Sonoplex is the musical brain child of three talented musicians in Charleston, SC. This band represents a dynamic fusion of live instruments and digital sound manipulation. Benjamin Gordon, Max Cobb, and Davis Goforth each bring their own musical expertise to this exciting new project. Benjamin Gordon plays guitar, hand drums, digereedoo, and runs the master mix through several audio processing programs. Max Cobb plays several analog and digital synths, as well as viola, and puts his expert knowledge of musical composition to the limit. Davis Goforth is a drumming machine and more, laying down live percussion that pumps the beat and drives the crowd wild. Max and Davis were two of the musicians in the band Manic Motion and have been playing music together since they were young. If your looking for a fresh, live, and progressive sound, check out Sonoplex.

Chiddy Bang and The Swelly Life Tour

Sunday, August 15th, 2010

Hey everybody,

I hope your weekend has been great so far, tomorrow night will make it even greater! Chiddy Bang’s The Swelly Life tour rolls through Chucktown tomorrow night! Doors open @ 8 and the show starts at 8:05, so get there early.

We have an amazing lineup, if you have good taste in music, you WILL find at least one band that you come to know, love, and follow.

Pinceone Productions LLC is proud to bring you The Swelly Life Tour featuring Chiddy Bang, Donnis, XV, 2am Club, with locals MyKynd and Theo Grams. Tickets are $15 in advance as well as Day of Show.

Breakout electro inspired hip-hop duo Chiddy Bang will bring the Swelly Life Tour to the Music Farm August 15th in support of their single “Opposite of Adults” which samples MGMT’s smash hit “Kids”.

Donnis, ATL’s hottest new artist adds a flare to the tour that is untouchable. His hit single “Gone” is a perfect introduction to the stylistic diversity Donnis has in store. Produced by Needlz (Lupe Fiasco, G-Unit, Ludacris), the cut is as much a look into the future of Atlanta hip-hop as it is a classic A-Town ride-out.

XV may be the best rapper you‘ve never heard of, hailing from Kansas. XV has been simmering just below the surface of hip-hop stardom since his debut album Complex in 2006. His most recent work, Everybody‘s Nobody, will serve as a comprehensive introduction to anyone brand new to the world of XV, and as a compelling teaser to the album for long time fans. Charleston, meet Kansas‘ great rapping hope.

2am Club’s tunes on RCA Records weave together pop, hip-hop, funk and rock, and they’re are all about having a good time. They are now readying the summer release of their debut album, featuring the single ‘Worry About You.’

Don’t forget about the GRAND after party at NV dance lounge on Market Street above Henry’s. Come have yourself some $2 drinks and hang out with the artists!

Cheers,

Pinecone

Wakefest featuring The Pier’s Summer Soundsystem Tour with Ballyhoo! and Mike Pinto

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

InkahootZ, Trophy Lakes and The Pier are proud to present WakeFest featuring the Summer Soundsystem Tour with BALLYHOO and Mike Pinto.

Wakefest 2010

Wakefest is a one-day collaboration between Trophy Lakes’ monthly Wakefest and The Pier’s Summer Soundsystem tour featuring reggae rock heavyweights BALLYHOO and Mike PintoTrophy Lakes will be providing all day wakeboarding passes for $30 in their world record holding lakes. There will also be three wakeboarding showcases throughout the day featuring the Trophy Lakes’ wakeboarding team as well as other professional boarders. Watersports not your thing? This is still the perfect excuse to tailgate lakeside with your friends, listen to live music and go for a swim. We’ll have our beach volleyball court setup as usual, as well as spikeball, cornhole and our 18 hole disc golf course. Catering will be provided by Savory who will be selling scrumptious lunches for a modest $5. Redbull will be providing free energy drinks all day. Trophy Lakes is dog friendly so you don’t have to leave your furry friend or his leash at home. Wakefest is sponsored by Trophy Lakes, The Pier, InkahootZ, Follywood productions and Extra Attic.

The Pier Presents The Summer Soundsystem Tour 2010

BALLYHOO!, hailing from the small Maryland town of Aberdeen, formed in their early high school years. Crafting a sound all their own, mixing pop, rock, reggae and punk rock, their self-released “Do It For The Money!” really put the band on the map. Since, the band has been touring the country nonstop for the past couple of years, spreading their music from coast to coast. Completely on their own, they’ve managed to sell over 6,000 full copies of their self-released CDs and more than 50,000 digital tracks.

Ballyhoo!

Mike Pinto has crafted an exceptional style of songwriting, with a truly unique take on Roots, Vintage Rock, Reggae, Ska and Classic Surf, but it’s his distinct voice and seamless storytelling that has brought him success both in the States and overseas. With the release of his debut album (Little District, 2005), Pinto began his attack on the Philadelphia music scene as a solo artist. By 2006, underground success and a rabid growing fanbase allowed him to expand westward with two nationwide solo acoustic tours. After the second tour, Pinto decided to relocate to San Diego where he immersed himself in the thriving Southern California music scene and quickly gained a name. The infectious sound garnered so much attention that Insomnia Radio added his single “One More Time” amidst a hard hitting compilation of the SoCal sound’s brightest groups including DI and Slightly Stoopid, with the members of which Pinto often uses as his supporting band.

New Track From Generation Binary: Flutter

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

Great news for all my fans out there, my newest track Flutter is ready for download! The name Flutter comes from the spacey synth that I custom designed for this song. I hope you enjoy the steady swing beat and wobbly bass line as progressive synth elements take you away. The guitar on Flutter sounds good in the recording, but it is intended to be performed live which sounds so much juicier and allows me to shred for your ear drum’s delight.

I appreciate any comments that you may have. As always, its still a work in progress so let me know if you feel I could add something to improve it. Enough reading go listen!!!

House Mixtape: Digitaly Mastered Fun

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

What up!

I am happy to announce the long awaited release of my new House Mixtape. There are some really great tracks in there for you to enjoy and share. Concentrating on the Deep House genre, this mixtape includes original remixes of top DJs and electronic artists which include; Tiesto, St. Germain, Robbie Riviera, DJ Shadow, Pretty Lights, ATB, Cafe del Mar, RJD2, and Daft Punk. I was originally going to put it directly on my website, but I had to upload it to SoundCloud because it was too large.

This set sounds so good out of a nice PA! Word up to all those promoters out there, I am defiantly available for gigs… And shout out to my friends who have kept me working hard all this time. I am currently trying to put together a show in Charleston, so keep your ear to the ground for more on that. Thanks for listening and if you like what you hear make sure to say something about it.

Love, Harmony, Wisdom…

House Mixtape Release

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

I have just released my first official mixtape on generationbinary.com. There is a sample version available for anyone, and a full 35 Minuet version for promoters and potential clients ( and friends of course). I have worked really hard to provide a dynamic example of my House DJ skills for all of you to enjoy!

It is crazy hard on my computer to play this music and record it at the same time. I apologize for the poor audio quality on this track. It still sounds good, but it isn’t even close to what comes out of the speakers… I am working on improving my recording system to eliminate the background noise.

To my fellow DJs and musicians out there, I would appreciate any recommendations on how to improve the sound quality of recording my sets. I welcome feedback from anyone who gives this track an ear.

Stay tuned for the rest of my mixtapes in progress which include:
Electro-Lounge
Hip Hop
Top 40
Classic Rock
Dance
and much more!

Peace to all those who take the time to stop and face the music…
Gordo

Adam’s Song

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Listening to the song Gordo composed for Adam was awe inspiring. His guitar sang the praise, the sorrow, and the love of a lost friend. The notes send chills up my spine, and they swell my heart with mourning. Heartache is one of the most potent inspirational emotions someone can experience, and this song is the musical manifestion of the loss of a dear friend. It’s not just sorrowful, it’s hopeful that Adam has found his way to the next step in this crazy adventure of our spirit.

I only met him once, but he was a beautiful person, that much was easy to see. I hope he’s out there listening to this song. Hell, he helped Gordo write it. It is the melody of his soul. Rest in Peace.
